Paul writes that we can never be accused of wrongdoing by our adversaries (spiritual and natural) if we consistently demonstrate nine qualities. Although the Bible mentions several behaviors of our “flesh” that we should control, these “Fruit of the Spirit” grow as we respond to the initiatives of the Holy Spirit, who lives inside our own spirit. These traits cannot be rehearsed. As they continue to develop and dominate our behavior, others will witness and testify about the changes in us. We are encouraged to seek, pray for, and earnestly desire each of these excellent qualities.
